Jaroslava Rusinková: “Language is an accumulator of human experience.”

Words and language are tools for communication, but in the hands of people, they often act like a loaded weapon. On the one hand, they can motivate, express love or respect; on the other, they can discriminate, manipulate, insult, or ignore—even without using derogatory words. Our colleague Jaroslava Rusinková from the Department of Social Linguistics made an interview for MIAU magazine speaking about what harms our language, why Slovak must be Slovak and nothing else, and also about how to communicate in a sensitive and respectful manner.
