Our colleagues Dr. Jaroslava Rusinková and Dr. Estera Kövérová (Department of Social Linguistics, Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics) took part in the international conference ‘Truthers’ and ‘Truth Defenders’: Understanding Conflicts over Conspiracy Theories, that was held from 6 to 7 November in Lund in Sweden.
In their presentation entitled The instrumentalization of language in the pursuit of truth, or How words do not lose their meanings they focused on misuse of language in the name of “truth” and also discussed if words can lose meaning.
The event ‘Truthers’ and ‘Truth Defenders’: Understanding Conflicts over Conspiracy Theories was organized by the Lund University.
