Jaroslava Rusinková: “When we talk, we are never neutral.”

Language can hurt, exclude, and perpetuate inequality—often without even realizing it. Phrases like “Na Slovenku po slovensky” (“in Slovakia, speak Slovak”) or mocking someone for his or her speech disorder may be innocent, but they have deeper meaning.
