The International Translation Day is celebrated on 30 September. Today is the memorial of St. Jerome, the patron saint of translators who is best known for his translation of the Bible into Latin, the so called Vulgate. He also put emphasis on conveying the sense of the text, because a literal translation of a text may fail to do so.
On the occasion of the Year of Ľudovít Štúr we offer you a poster containing a fragment from the Slovenské národné noviny (“Slovak National News”).
