Dr. Miroslav Zumrík (Slovak National Corpus Department, Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics) together with Dr. Marketa Štefková (Department of German, Dutch and Scandinavian Studies, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University) took part in the international conference Transius 2025 that was held from 7 to 9 July in Geneva in Switzerland.
Their talk, Quantifying Legal Language. A Corpus-based Approach to Slovak Judicial Decisions presented an overview of the current and future quantitative and qualitative (corpus) research in the domain of Slovak legal text translation.
The triennial Transius conference, which is organised by The Centre for Legal and Institutional Translation Studies of the University of Geneva, has since its inception evolved into a respectable meeting point for experts on legal translation studies in European and global perspective.
